Tailored Presentations
Offering informational sessions on a range of topics relevant to self-injury for a wide range of audiences. Examples include but are not limited to: a general overview about self-injury (e.g., prevalence, underlying reasons, self-injury and social media), an overview of self-injury in schools, and how to talk about and support someone when it comes to self-injury. Presentations can be delivered in-person or virtually and can vary in length. Presentations can also be tailored to diverse audiences, such as health and mental health professionals, school professionals, parents/caregivers, people with lived experience, among others.
Tailored Training Workshops
In-person and virtual workshops tend to be longer in nature (e.g., a half or full day) versus presentations and have a practical emphasis. Here again, these can be tailored to suit your needs (e.g., specific audiences, particular contexts). Past workshops have been given to a) school professionals (e.g., how to support students who self-injure; outlining components of school protocols); b) university professionals (e.g., working with students, campus-wide approaches to support students who self-injure), and c) mental health professionals (e.g., social workers, psychologists, therapists, psychiatrists, and student trainees).
Consultation Services
We also offer different forms of consultation. For schools, we can offer guidance and consultation about developing school protocols and policies to support students who self-injure; these are tailored to meet your site’s needs and can involve meetings to discuss what is involved in creating a protocol, working with you throughout the development of a protocol, and reviewing material you have already developed to ensure the content aligns with current evidence and best-practice recommendations. Here again, this can be delivered in-person as well as virtually.
